Reconciliation

"Reconciliation" is a movie that focuses on the broken relationship of a son, Grant and his father, Jeff, who haven't spoken in 24 years. As Jeff doesn't have long to live his last request is to see his son. Grant (with the persuasion of his wife) reluctantly goes to see his father, not sure what to expect or how to react. Jeff is gay, Grant is a Christian. Their two worlds collide and as they get to know one another, really for the first time, they're surprised by what they find...love and forgiveness.

Review:
"Reconciliation" is one of those rare finds among films that seek to discuss controversial topics about what God wants for us and from us. Homosexuality and religion is a hotly debated topic in the church today. However, the Bible is clear; hate sin but love the sinner. This film clearly portrays one family's struggles to achieve this goal.

While the subject of homosexuality is not treated lightly, it is dealt with openly and from a clear Biblical perspective. "All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." This is something we should all be aware of and yet we sometimes forget. It is also the basis of this film. As believers we are called to love all of God's children and this film shows us that in a beautiful but tragic way. Whether you believe that homosexuality is a choice or genetically determined, there is little doubt that God loves all of us and we have a choice to follow his ways. And we must decide if we want to act on our sinful desires or follow God.

We are pleased to award this touching story our Dove "Family-Approved" Seal for ages 12 and over.
